Minerals Exploration & Mining

An active area of interest since the 1980s, its origins are found in our work as part of the multi-discipline team led by Prof. Richard Conroy that discovered the Galmoy orebody in Co. Kilkenny and brought it forward to mine development readiness.

One of three producing mines (with Navan and Lisheen), whose output placed Ireland amongst the world’s top-10 lead/zinc concentrate producers, our on-going work with Conroy Gold and Natural Resources Plc has opened another exciting chapter: this time through our exploration for gold within the highly prospective Longford Down Massif in the border counties of Cavan, Monaghan and Armagh.

Indications are that the region is dotted with mineable reserves. Watch this space.
